Consero, a leader in exclusive, invitation-only events for senior-level executives, partnered with Scale to completely overhaul their client-facing event management experience. Previously reliant on a combination of Salesforce pages, manual PDFs, and an outdated mobile app, Consero needed a seamless, modern solution that aligned with their brand and operational goals. The collaboration resulted in a sophisticated, user-friendly platform that streamlined every aspect of event management while preserving existing workflows and emphasizing a robust Salesforce integration.

Our strategy

Consero initially approached Scale to update their aging mobile app. However, during discovery, it became evident that attempting to patch outdated code would not yield a smart, sustainable investment. Instead, Consero opted to sunset their mobile app and embrace a comprehensive system redesign.

Our process began with an in-depth discovery phase, exploring technical functionality, business requirements, and Salesforce integration needs. A key objective was ensuring the new application complemented Consero’s existing Salesforce workflows, automations, and processes. This strategy laid the foundation for a robust, branded event management experience.

Our impact

A Modern, Scalable Application

The application was designed around three core functionalities:

  1. Registration and Logistics Integrated with Salesforce’s Pardot forms, the system allows Consero to create and manage complex, flexible forms seamlessly. Subnavigation for registration pages was dynamically generated using Pardot sections, preserving the flexibility Consero relied on.
  2. Event Itinerary Attendees can access an intuitive, up-to-date itinerary tailored to their profiles, with quick search functionality, keyboard shortcuts, and real-time updates for a superior user experience.
  3. Post-Event Evaluation and Feedback The application supports comprehensive feedback gathering, enabling Consero to evaluate sessions, meetings, and other event actions for continuous improvement.

Salesforce Integration

A cornerstone of the project was seamless integration with Salesforce. We leveraged custom objects, fields, and APEX code to create APIs that supported all front-end functionalities. This ensured the new system worked harmoniously with Consero’s existing workflows while unlocking new capabilities. The flexibility and robustness of this integration have been critical to the platform’s success.

Design System and Modern UI

We implemented a tailored design system that adhered to Consero’s brand standards while leveraging cutting-edge UI practices. The application features delightful UI components, toast notifications, and global announcements. Keyboard shortcuts and quick search functionalities further enhanced usability, creating a streamlined, user-centric interface.

Technological Solutions

  • Frontend Architecture: Built with Next.js, enriched by the design system for a delightful and modern user experience.
  • Backend Integrations: Deep Salesforce integration with custom APIs built using APEX code and native API routes from Next.js.
  • PDF Generation: Introduced dynamic PDF capabilities for event agendas, overcoming challenges with Next.js’s PDF maturity by leveraging community support and innovative solutions.
  • AWS Hosting: Flat assets like images and logos were hosted on AWS for scalability and reliability.
